These are the steps:
- Click on the CONTACTS TAB in the upper left corner of the coach screen and then look down in the lower left corner.
- You will see a blue icon with two arrows pointed in opposite directions that you need to click on.
- In the upload file window that opens, you have the same options to select the file and upload it. Then click on “Import Contacts” button.
- A new window will appear where you need to carefully match the data columns in your import file with the client information fields in the Console. Special attention should be addressed to choosing the group where the imported prospects will be placed. (a) You have the list of groups already existing in the Console that you can choose from. (b) Another option is to have in your import file a column named Groups. The Console will import/create the prospect groups from there.
Important Note 1: In the Console, during import, a contact is always analyzed and filtered primarily based on the email address associate with it. So, if you have in your import file clients already existing in the Console with a certain address, the system will not create a double entry, but simply update/overwrite that contact entry.
Example: Normally you would have John Smith with the email address firstname.lastname@example.org. If, in the import file, you happen to have this contact, the system will not create two John Smiths with that email address, but consider it is the same contact. A potential issue that might appear in this case is having John Smith with a different email address in the import file: in this case, the system will create a new (second entry) for that client based on the different email address. So, you might want to carefully go through each contact data in the import file before uploading and importing it.
Important note 2: Contacts in the import file that do not have any of the 3 vital pieces of information (first or last name, email address) will be omitted during import and this will be reflected in the import report.
