What does the "FROM" field look like to the recipients of my emails, newsletters, appointment reminders, invoices, etc?

The route is a bit more complicated. Your Console communications are sent to clients from info@coachesconsole.com in the name of your email address via SendGrid (third party emailing service we use to deliver and monitor the Console communications). In order to comply with the SPAM regulations and to be sure that your recipients receive your communications, the "FROM" field looks like this:

  • When a message first lands in your recipient's inbox and is "unread": Your Console Business Name will appear as the sender.
  • When a message has been opened by the recipients, they see your Console Business Name through sendgrid.info.

Can you provide an example what clients see when a message is opened. I'm not understanding the "through sendgrid.info."

    Hi, Maureen,

I attached a sample to the FAQ.

When the client opens the email sent from your Console, they see in the "From" field the email as being sent by you (your coach name and email address used in the Console) followed by "via sendgrid.info". That's exactly what it says. And that's because your Console emails are not sent directly to your clients by the Console server, but through SendGrid, a dedicated emailing third party service that we use for that. The Console server sends the emails list in batches to SendGrid and SendGrid delivers them further to your clients.

You can test this with a test client entry for which you use a different email address than the one you are using as coach. Send yourself an email to that test contact address and look at the email you receive, in the From field.
