There is always some risk of getting spam contact entries via the Opt-In Forms you use on your Coaches Console website (or an external website if the case). The risk depends on how much and where you promote/advertise/distribute your website pages for registrations and opt-ins, but the spamming bots (sometimes also humans doing this) can scan websites and find your pages with Opt-In Forms anyway.
There are certain measures you can implement to diminish this risk, so you do have some control. You can:
1. Enable the Double Opt-In feature in Communicate menu > Settings > section 'Email preferences'. A tutorial: Enabling The Double Opt-In Feature
2. Enable the Google Captcha on Opt-in Forms in the Website menu > Settings > section 'Additional options'.
3. Mark as spam the dubious contacts that got in. This does two things at once: removes the respective contacts from your system and places their originating IPs on a black list that we keep, so that no further spam entries can be created from those IPs. You can do this in bulk with the advanced search tool. A tutorial:
How to do an advanced contact search, select multiple contacts and apply an action
These are the defensive measures you can use at this time in the Coaches Console system. Our team is always researching for other solutions that could be implemented, so there may be additional improvements in the future.
